Chandler UMC Youth Group
Chandler Youth Group -“Micah 6:8 on the go”

“Micah 6:8 on the go” youth group is open to all 6th – 12th grade students. The group meets monthly for Christian service projects, friendship building fun outings and much more. This group is “on the go” so be ready to be out in the community for some fun and service.

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?

I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program)

The youth (6th-12th grade students) at Chandler UMC have been working to help break the cycle of homelessness in our community. On the second Saturday of each month they host the I-HELP homeless guests at our church. The host night includes dinner, a place to sleep, breakfast and a bag lunch to go.

Are we making a difference?
Here are a couple stats from February 2015:
45 individuals received case management
5  individuals gained employment
6  individuals secured housing

April  2016 I-HELP numbers:

10 Individuals gained employment

7 Individuals entered housing

God is working through the people at Chandler UMC to make a difference in the lives of people. Well done CHURCH!

The students would like to thank you for supporting this outreach ministry. We have people donating food and  sheets, a group washing the sheets, a group pulling the portable shower trailer and much more. The youth would like to thank the PEOPLE Group for providing a wonderful evening meal on the February host night. Please continue to pray for the people in the I-HELP program.

Blessings, The Chandler UMC Youth

Youth Group Project –

Did you know that the Youth Group collects aluminum cans to help fund their projects and activities? Total recycling funds to date add up to about $350.00. For the past two years recycling has added up! So, bring in your clean empty cans!
“ We started it to help raise funds for the AED. We use the funds to support the youth outreach projects.”
The youth used $750 from their youth account, some of the recycling funds and a donation from a generous family to purchase the AED (Automated external defibrillator). The youth will be using their youth account funds to buy the replacement pads for the AED in November. (about $150 for the pads).
They purchase of the first A.E.D. unit was in honor of Chandler UMC’s first 100 years.
