The Church Gives Us...

A Place to Stop

In case anyone is wondering about our purpose as disciples in a church… Jesus has some very defining instructions.

Getting Control

Having everything change radically has been quite disorienting and left us all feeling very out of control. Not everything people do in search of control is productive or appropriate. This series recognizes some of our temptations and suggests healthy alternatives for regaining solid ground in God’s kingdom.

Dis-Ease, Anxiety And Discipleship

Anxiety is a hot topic in our culture right now… a lot of words that seem to suggest having anxiety is abnormal or out of line or a sign there is something wrong with you… and that healthy, faithful people are always at ease and tranquil. We’re going to pay attention to scripture passages which include anxiety as part of a larger, unfolding story and see what those passages might say to us. (Hint: There is nothing wrong with having anxiety and healthy, faithful people are not always tranquil.)

The Big Top on Human Sexuality

We walk through a very deep examination of what the bible says about all of human sexuality… and surprise… it doesn’t say what our cultural religion says it does! The willingness to do violence to the biblical text to make it support an extraneous agenda is also addressed.

Holy Week & Easter

Being stuck trying to stay safe in our houses gives us a very unique perspective for reading the Easter story anew… and wouldn’t you know it, we find some things we’ve never noticed before.

Daily Ways to Handle Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety are normal. We can either figure out effective ways to manage them, or they will manage us.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
