Meet our Staff

Jim - Lay Minister

Jim is an Arizona native.  He attended Arizona State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication and a master’s degree in Theatre Education.  He spent 43 years teaching speech, theater, and English in various high schools.  He attended Local Pastors school for three summers and spent some time previously serving at Chandler UMC as Director of Nurture and Outreach.  Following his retirement from teaching and feeling called to serve, he renewed his certification to serve as a Certified Lay Minister.  He has previously served at Dayspring UMC and St. Matthew UMC.  He is the proud grandfather of eight amazing grandchildren who all live nearby.

Michelle - Financial Administrator

Michelle has extensive experience from the business world having worked in farming, retail, and construction sectors before joining Chandler UMC in 2009.  Michelle has been married for over 30 years and has raised four beautiful children.  She enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Jessica - Communication Director

Jessica moved to Arizona from Colorado in 2018.  She has worked in the church world most of her career.  Jessica also is a full-time Administrative Assistant at VIAVI Solutions.  Her hobbies include watching football, playing volleyball, and spending time outdoors with her husband and son.

Adam - Music Director

Adam has been a member of Chandler UMC from the spring of 2011.  He teaches music and choir and is currently teaching in the Mesa Public Schools.  His faith journey is unique because he grew up in a family that attended Lutheran churches, but he has also attended Baptist and Pentecostal churches at various times as an adult.  Adam believes that all the churches have had the same goal – to make disciples and to be the Light of Christ…they just put their own “flavor” on the goal.

Adam is married to Christina, who also sings in the choir and is a bell ringer.  They met during their time at Northern Arizona University while singing in choirs for the music department.  Some of Adam’s favorite activities aside from music are traveling, playing video games, and watching sports.  He and Christina love Disney and enjoy traveling to Disneyland whenever they have the chance.  They also welcomed Isabella Rose to their family in April of 2024. “Singing is like praying twice.”  St. Augustine

Stacey - Pianist

Stacey was raised in Seoul, Korea, and attended Ewha Women’s University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Piano Music.  During her college years she accompanied many solo singers and choirs as well as musicals.  Since moving to the United States, Stacey has attended Colburn Conservatory. She received her master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy and earned the Suzuki instructor certification from Temple University.  Stacey has studied under many acclaimed pianists, including Dr.  Heewon Kwon and Daniel Pollak.  She taught at Haverford School and Rosemont School as well as Huntingdon Valley Christian Academy in the Philadelphia area.  Her teaching experience includes several prize-winning students in Pennsylvania and New York who have performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center.  Stacey received the excellent teacher’s award from the “Music Fest” committee.
